August 29 – Calvert City Golf and Country Club from 3 PM – 6 PM.
Practice your kayaking skills in a controlled environment. Open to all ages.
This event will teach the basic skills of paddling and provide kayaks, paddles, life jackets, and instruction. Please plan accordingly when choosing your attire. You will get wet. This event is free and open to the public. Children and adults are welcome to participate, however, children must be accompanied by an adult.
“Our goal is to get people on kayaks who might not have a chance to experience it. This is also a great opportunity to experience kayaking without the fear of open water and in the safety of a warm swimming pool,” said Blair Travis, director of marketing and business development for Calvert City. “I hope that those attending love it so much they want to attend our KY Dam Paddle Up event on October 7.”
If you would like to attend the Paddle Skills Day, to participate please pre-register for this free event, or for more information please contact Calvert City Hall at (270) 395-7138 or by email at info@calvertcityky.gov.
